It is a colorless cubic crystal, the appearance of blocky, flake, granular, spherical, powdered solid, slightly toxic, odorless, slightly bitter taste. Calcium chloride releases a lot of heat when dissolved in water.

Calcium chloride is widely used in industrial and food fields. In industry, it is mainly used in oil drilling, desiccant, snow melting agent, dehydrating agent, refrigerant, antifreeze, early strength agent, dust collector, fogging agent, fire retardant, water treatment agent, refining agent, precipitating agent, coagulant, coagulant, fertilizer granulation, etc., and is also the raw material for the production of other chemical products.
