Magnesium chloride is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula MgCl2 and a molecular weight of 95.211. It is a colorless plate-like crystal, slightly soluble in acetone, and soluble in water, ethanol, methanol, and pyridine. Dehydration in humid air leads to smoke, while sublimation occurs in the white heat of hydrogen gas flow.

Application
