Magnesium hydroxide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula Mg (OH) 2. It is a white amorphous powder or colorless hexagonal column crystal, soluble in dilute acid and ammonium salt solutions, almost insoluble in water. The part that dissolves in water is completely ionized, and the aqueous solution is weakly alkaline. Heating to 350 ºC to lose aquatic magnesium oxide and magnesium hydroxide, the natural mineral of magnesium hydroxide, can be used for sugar production and magnesium oxide. Due to the abundant content of magnesium hydroxide in nature and its chemical properties similar to aluminum, users have started using magnesium hydroxide instead of aluminum chloride for fragrance products. Used as an analytical reagent and also in the pharmaceutical industry.

Brine lime method: The lime milk made from pre purified and refined brine and lime treated with digestion and slag removal is subjected to sedimentation reaction in a sedimentation tank. Flocculants are added to the obtained slurry, which is fully mixed before entering the sedimentation tank for separation. Then, it is filtered, washed, dried, and crushed to obtain magnesium hydroxide finished product.

 

1. Brine ammonia water method: Using purified brine to remove impurities such as sulfate, carbon dioxide, and small amounts of boron as raw materials, ammonia water is used as a precipitant for precipitation reaction in a reactor. Before the reaction, a certain amount of crystal seeds are added and thoroughly stirred. The ratio of brine to ammonia is 1: (0.9-0.93), and the temperature is controlled at 40 ºC. After the reaction is completed, flocculants are added, and the precipitate is filtered, washed, dried, and crushed to obtain magnesium hydroxide finished product

Magnesium hydroxide is an excellent flame retardant for plastic and rubber products. As a flue gas desulfurizer in terms of environmental protection, it can replace caustic soda and lime as neutralizing agents for acidic wastewater. Also used as an oil additive, it has anti-corrosion and desulfurization effects. In addition, it can also be used for refining in the electronics industry, pharmaceuticals, sugar, as insulation materials, and in the manufacturing of other magnesium salt products.
